Rickamore Surf

Born 14th July 2008
A silver dun colt born in 2008, bought with the intention of keeping him entire.   Bred by Pam Megahey, he has not only very old, very good, bloodlines on his sire’s side through Callowfeenish Mairtin, but also has the excellent Sparrow jumping bloodline through his dam – who is the full sister of the Clifden Loose Jumping Competition winner in 2009, Grange Bobby Sparrow.

As a youngster, Rick was taken to local shows for experience in his first year, was lightly shown at County Shows in our area as a 2 year old and broken in at three. He shows amazing athleticism, is very responsive to aids and is extremely powerful.  He has a long stride which covers the ground well and lifts with his shoulders when he bascules giving a lovely feel.

Show Producer Stephanie Turner has shown him,  achieving great placings in many shows culminating in qualifying for  the Hewitt & Family M&M at Equifest, where he came 2nd and a finalist for the evening championships.
Produced for BE eventing by Diana Grant.    He has the mind, attitude and ability for FEI eventing as he is a very exciting prospect with exceptional talent.
Produced for British Showjumping by Atiya Bussey who was on the British Team in Austria and the Nations Cup in Holland in Children on Horses competitions.
Debbie Edmundson, (as junior rider Debbie Saffell who won gold at the Europeans) had him for the early 2019 eventing season, and said ‘he is great fun!’

Rick has been improving at every competition & relishing the challenge.   So much scope – clearing every jump with loads to spare, tucking up his front feet & ‘pinging’ his quarters. He finds the distances easy through doubles and combination fences – such talent!

Talented Pony with a Powerful Jump

Video clips below show Rick competing – he is now looking for someone special for the next chapter of his competition career.

He would make a lovely Working Hunter Pony, as he will always catch the judge’s eye.
